Community Partners

We are fundamentally collaborative.  We work within dynamic communities in partnership with local organizations, agencies, educational institutions, First Nations and government departments. Together we build programs and services to support local women to build their skills and to succeed in trades and technology programs and workplaces.

From the beginning, the Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) has acted as a strategic partner, working with us to build the Women Unlimited model.  NSCC provides dedicated space at their campuses, as well as significant resources and expertise.  The number of diverse female students enrolled in the NSCC School of Trades and Technology has more than doubled since Women Unlimited began.  This is good news for NSCC, for women, for families, for our communities and our economy! : As of September 1, 2021, Women Unlimited transitioned from a valued partner of NSCC to a welcomed member of NSCC’s learning community under the Human Rights and Equity and Inclusion department.

There are so many champions in our communities who support our programs … we can’t thank you enough!

You support us by:
• Hosting information sessions and promoting our programs
• Referring women to Women Unlimited
• Facilitating workshops
• Problem solving issues to address challenges women may face
• Providing resources and expertise
• Providing financial resources
• Participating in events
• And celebrating women’s accomplishments!

Women Unlimited changes peoples’ lives. To see women go from having no sense of direction or hope to being confident in their abilities and start a new life is like seeing a caterpillar blossom into a beautiful butterfly. Many of my clients have been told over and over that they can’t succeed. For them to be in a situation where they are told they CAN succeed changes everything. They become confident in themselves and that they CAN do something.
